Tottenham have made a late move to sign Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal despite the winger being on the verge of joining Everton.

Sky Sports News It was reported on Monday that Danjoma will join managerless Everton on Tuesday. The move was still expected despite the sacking of Frank Lampard, who played a key role in the deal.

However, the Netherlands international is now heading to London for talks with Spurs.

The 25-year-old decided to join Everton despite more lucrative offers and interest. He was aware of the challenge facing the club in the Premier League amid off-field chaos but wanted to test himself and take risks.

The contract with Everton was set up as a straight loan until the end of the season with no option or obligation to buy.

Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest were keen to bring in Danjuma after Villarreal allowed him to speak to the clubs, sparking further interest.
