“Max Kepler You’re a Yankee”

The Minnesota Twins have been the most active team this offseason. After the awkward storyline, they re-signed Carlos Correa and added other pieces, but they also reversed two trades. The latest includes welcoming Michael A. Taylor from the Kansas City Royals.

The Minnesota Twins are acquiring center fielder Michael A. Taylor in a trade with the Kansas City Royals, sources tell me. @kileymcd.

Taylor provides outfield depth, but he’s not exactly a superstar. Still, the Twins liked what they saw enough to send back the trade package, though it wasn’t necessarily a huge loss for the Royals.

MLB fans aren’t sure how to feel. Many believe this could be an early move as the Twins are going to trade another outfielder later. They have plenty of outfield depth, so the idea makes sense.

Others believe Taylor, who was a bit of a fan favorite in both Washington and Kansas City, will fit in well with the club.

@Jeff Passon @kileymcd Great job filling an obvious need. The Twins realize they have too many outfielders, right?

@Jeff Passon @kileymcd They didn’t really need another outfielder.. still looks like they trade one of Kepler, Kirillov, Larnach, or Wallner.

Many believe this is a sign that Max Kepler, who was involved in trade rumors after the signing. Joey Gallo, maybe on this move. There are plenty of teams that would like to add the young outfielder, and trading Michael A. Taylor could indicate that he is indeed available.

In any way, Twins Added an outfielder with speed who can play any position. That’s valuable for a team that appears to be going after a playoff spot with an aggressive offseason.

Which teams want the Minnesota Twins outfielder?

The Minnesota Twins suddenly have a glut of outfielders, meaning one of them (most likely Max Kepler) is going elsewhere.

Could the Minnesota Twins trade Max Kepler?
Could the Minnesota Twins trade Max Kepler?

gave New York Yankees Perhaps an outfielder is most needed. They needed someone to play left field, and that was Brian Reynolds. Kepler will be cheaper.

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost Joey Gallo and Cody Bellinger, so they could use another outfielder.

The Texas Rangers have been aggressive all offseason and included Reynolds, so trading Kepler makes sense for them as well.

After missing the postseason a year ago, the Minnesota Twins appear poised and ready to make a postseason run again. If all goes well, they could compete for the AL Central title.
