Mikey Musumeci stunned at the one openweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix.

ONE Flyweight submission grappling champion Miki Musumiki is excited for the ONE Openweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix planned this year and can’t wait to watch it.

This ambitious tournament is set to be one of the historic events for the ONE Championship in 2023. This was announced last week at the press conference for One Fight Night 6 on Prime Video in Bangkok.

The openweight competition will see 16 of the world’s best strikers, regardless of their weight division, compete for the top prize of $1 million. It’s only open to one fighter, but the promotion said it continues to sign athletes, some of which have yet to be announced.

Speaking to SCMPMMA, Mickey Mousesey He said the Muay Thai Grand Prix would be great for the sport:

“I think it’s amazing what a championship and chatter is. [Sityodtong] Doing it for the sport of Muay Thai. This is going to be the biggest event ever for the sport of Muay Thai. It’s going to be crazy watching Openweight Muay Thai. Like, what’s going to happen?”

The openweight tournament could potentially feature top-one strikers such as Chinggis Alazov, Superbansingha Maven, Rudtang Jitmwangan, Nong-O Gianghadao and Region Ersel. He has also caught the interest of kickboxer and mixed martial arts fighter Alistair Overeem.

Mickey Mousesey One was part of Fight Night 6 on January 13. He successfully defended his submission world title against Mongolian challenger Gantomar Byndorian via unanimous decision.

Before joining ONE, he was a Brazilian jiu-jitsu athlete, including winning five IBJF world championships while representing the United States.

The reigning ONE flyweight submission grappling champion expressed his feelings in an Instagram post leading up to his fight at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video.

One Fight Night 6 took place on January 13 in Bangkok, where Mickey Mousesey Retained his world title against challenger Gantumur Bayanduuren with a dominant display.

Since making his debut in April last year, he has compiled an unblemished 3-0 record. He claimed his first flyweight submission grappling world title at ONE on Prime Video 2 in September, winning by unanimous decision over Brazilian Kleber Sosa.
